Indigenous Instyle Code of Ethics:
Indigenous Instyle abide by our personal code of ethics ensuring our professionalism, honesty and integrity in dealings with Indigenous artists and their representatives within the Indigenous art market. We ensue to promote the diversity of Indigenous art and culture respectfully. We pledge to represent Indigenous artists and their cultures accurately and present them in a culturally appropriate manner. We refuse to deal with anyone who violates Indigenous copyright or improperly appropriates Indigenous imagery.
Provenance (History) of Indigenous Art:
We uphold to not unfairly or illegally represent the provenance of a work. We will source original works from reputable sources such as directly from the Indigenous artist, an Indigenous arts centre or his or her reputable agent. Ethical consumers want art that does not exploit or rob Indigenous artists and we intend to honor this requirement. We are responsible for the proper disclosure of information relating to the authorship and provenance of any work exhibited.
Authenticity Questions you should be asking:
Is the art work authentic (made by the person stated as the artist)? Indigenous Instyle only sell authenticated Aboriginal Art.
Is it properly documented (such as by a certificate of authenticity from a reputable source, photographs or other evidence)? We sell all paintings with the original COA and photos of the artist holding the painting if available.
