Betty Club Mbitjana is a daughter of one of the truly great aboriginal artists of all time, Minnie Pwerle [now deceased], whose other daughter, Barbara Weir is also considered to be one of today’s great artists. Married to Paddy Club, Betty is respectful of her family ties and possesses a great passion for painting and is honoured to be carrying on her mother’s beliefs and Dreamings, as well as skillfully interpreting her own.
Betty is an extremely talented artist and works her colours brilliantly onto the canvas in the unique energetic style that is so reminiscent of her famous mother’s. Now a highly collectable artist in her own right, Betty’s works are increasing rapidly in popularity and value, as their presence in many major private and public collections will attest.
